True.
You can often find the AF280T for a very reasonable price.
TTL metering with this flash and the 645 is very good indeed.
I did an indoor shoot of a band a few months ago and used this
combination, setting the camera to manual exposure and the flash to TTL
auto. I set the shutter speed with what I thought was the slowest I
could hand hold with the 45mm lens (1/30 sec) and the aperture one stop
down from wide open (f/4.0). Then I relied on the TTL flash to either
provide a little fill or make up the underexposure difference. Worked
out nicely.
