Something else to try this evening, now it feels like I'm getting somewhere. > I would examine the AF coupling on the lens to make sure that it is > not damaged at all, like the screwdriver blade has been slipping in > and out - sort of stripping it. Also make sure that the lens mounts > firmly to the body so the blade can fully engage. The coupling seems fine I'm only using the screwdriver very carefully since the lens gave trouble. > The method I described above is how I have always done all my FA* > clutch lenses. Is this some "official" method, I've never had a clutch lens before, now I've got two at once and the other one (24 f/2) seems fine. John
