I have used this lens in a short month. I like it, despite the size. It is a
"ladies lens", meaning that the softness makes the portraits flattering. The
contrasts are very good, and the colours are very rich. It is useful at
longer distances too.
I've also tested it with a Vivitar 2x TC, that combo turned out to be
useless, because of lack of details, and colours. The picks was very grey.
Auto Focus is also a bit slower then I expected, despite the lens speed
(f1,4). My Tamron 28-75/2,8 performs better concerning AF speed.

Subject: Focus problem Pentax FA* 85mm f/1.4

I have a Pentax FA* 85mm f/1.4 with a slight problem, when the lens is used
in manual focus and then swithched back to AF the AF will not work until the

lens is removed and the drive coupling shaft rotated with a small
screwdriver
until a click can be heard.

Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem and how much it would cost to

have rectified? Also any opinion on the optical performance would be
appreciated as I haven't had chance to use the lens yet.

Best regards,

John
