Thanks for everyone's interest. Frank, I love your imagination!!  Actually,
what's going on here is that the bird in flight is an adult landing on it's
own nest to feed the three juvenile birds, which are on the right. The other
birds, on the left, are in another nest, waiting for their meal.  Given the
magnification involved (about 24X) I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

As to the artifacts, I'm very interested in seeing how this plays out.  I've
noticed that images that look OK in one viewing program, may look like a
snow storm in other program, due to sharpening junk.  I sharpened this in
the RAW converter to about 60%.  I sharpened again in processing, don't
recall the degree.
