My point is that it's not extra cost with a Mac. All of the Mac desktop G5s are 64 bit.
Depending on the cost of a G5 (I don't have a clue), it may be significantly more expensive than a 64 bit PC.

I don't have a clue either <g>. Although I think the entry level G5s
are pretty inexpensive. However, I wouldn't buy an entry level Mac or
PC. When you upgrade, you might as well take a fairly big step.However,
I did buy the top of the line G4 just when the G5s were introduced. It
was too good a deal to pass up, and it certainly does a great job with
PS CS and big files.
