My point is that it's not extra cost with a Mac. All of the Mac desktop G5s are 64 bit.

My comment was that in two years 32 bit machines will be obsolete (AMD has no plans to continue production after mid '05), but right now, today, they are not worth the extra cost, so anyone who is in the current market needs to decide whether they are going to keep the machine for awhile (buy a 64 bit), or will upgrade again in a couple or years (save money by buying a 32 bit system). That applies whether you use Mac's or PC's. If you run Linux most of the software can be recompiled as 64 bit so there is no real reason (except money) to hold back.
