I sent it to THK (I think it might have been in southern California) for a CLA (which it did not obviously need) and the hood repair (no extra cost for the hood repair, above the CLA cost, the service guy said over the phone). They ended up doing the repair and CLA for no cost, even though the lens was bought used, I had no proof of any warranty, and I don't know if the lens was still under warranty or not. That's my only experience with THK.
None of my other old manual focus Tokina AT-X lenses (and I own and dearly love several, all bought used) have ever needed repair. Fred
