Hi, thanks for the comments, and good suggestions wrt conversion to
B&W!

The person in background could be more out of focus. It's a property
of most nikkor (gasp! yes, this was shot using a 2.8/80-200 nikon
zoom) lenses to have harsher rendering of boke. This usually shows in
the specular highlights like the reflections from the glass of wine
the man is holding. If I had used a Sonnar 2.8/180, the background
would be very pleasantly out of focus (although even too much for my
taste). I think myself that the shot is too tight, but that's problem
with the long zoom on digital with 1.5x crop - I was used to get 80mm
AOV now I get 120mm AOV on the same lens... but that may be personal
preference.

Gianfranco, thanks! WRT the foreground - in the other colour channels, there is
tonality
even in the highlights in the foreground. I find the blown highlights
distracting there, that's why I asked. In the other channels, they
don't form the specular highlight with pure white, but blend nicely
from gray to ligher gray.

I think I should get back to shooting film for such things ;-)
