I got mine rather late in Pentax history. It is a heavy beast. And, like you said, the AF is very noisy. My first AF camera was the Canon EOS-RT, the one with a pellicle mirror. I think Canon did a much better job with their first AF cameras then Pentax. My favorite Pentax AF is the PZ1-p.
