Thanks, Cotty! I think that's my fave of the day,
too. For a doggie lens (which the Vivitar 3.8 19mm
is), it does the job as long as sharpness isn't a
priority. Luckily for me, it often isn't <vbg>
I had 1 frame left, and the Jet Fuel team moved 6 (!)
riders to the front of the peloton to control the last
3 laps of the race. I knew there was a good chance
that one of them would finish first. I got to the
finish line, elbowed my way to the edge of the track
("Excuse me, photographer coming through!!"), put on
the 19mm, framed it so the crowd on the far side was
nicely lined along the top of the frame, and waited
for a red blur to cross the line. I just snapped when
I saw Andrew (I didn't know it was him at the time).
I had no idea Moe's arms would get in there, and as
she didn't know I had an ultra-wide on there, she had
no idea she'd be in there. I like the look, though,
serendipitous though it is. Glad you liked it too!

The vertical bluish stripe(s) down the left of the
scan are actualy on the print, but the neg appears to
be okay, so I may go back and ask for a re-print. I'm
assuming it's a remnant of the minilab printing
process. Anyone there seen this before?
cheers,
frank
