I think that this would fit in well with their > current direction. That probably means that they won't do it. How about splitting the difference and having a f3.4 version - best of both worlds! Lighter, cheaper, more compact than a f2.8 and only 1/2 stop slower - but still 1/2 stop faster than a f4!
