1959 for me - but I got lucky once when I had a busted speedo on the Mini. Cop pulled me over and said "Would you continue to do less than 30, please sir?" (the limit in urban areas in those days was 30 mph). I, of course, said yes, praying he wouldn't notice that the speedo was reading 85 mph!
