I recently had a lens cleaned by a competent technician here in Austin
(TX USA). Since I had been mulling the whole lens mount compatibility
problem in my head for a while, when I picked up the lens, I asked him
if he could get the spring loaded contacts on the lens mount if one
broke. He said he could. So I think it might just be a matter of
getting some of those spring loaded contacts, drilling the right size
hole, and press fitting them in. The other side would just get shorted
to the lens body. I have a cheap FA lens that I might just cannibalize
for this experiment.
