You get two, and the one on the TC goes the wrong way.

Apart from that its good. Ive used mine with a 50 1.4 for years as an alternative to a 100 2.8 macro. Of course its not as good as the real macro lens, but close enough for many purposes.

thanks for your respond.
With that vivitar macro converter, do you get a double focus-mechanisme,
(one on the lens, and one on the converter) or just focus on the lens?
Greetings, Hans B.

I would like to get me a good 2x converter. I expect the Pentax T6-2X and

But I also here good sounds about the vivitar macro-teleconverter. And
there
is also a normal vivitar 2x converter. (I've seen the last one for about 12
euro's or 10 USD.)
It should mainly be used on a MX +K200/4
Is there a great quality difference between these converters and what is a
reasonable price in USD or Euro for these converters? (In good condition)

The "Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter" is one of the few good
2x TCs around. Price is about $45 to $55 used. The latest model for
Pentax is the PK-A version. It is as good as any 2x TC except maybe
some of the dedicated ones with the long snout that only fit certain
lenses, such as the Pentax 2.0 X-L.

The other Vivitar 2x teleconverters, like most 2x TCs, are often a
waste of money because they soften the image too much. Better to get
a good one the first time out, and the Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing
Teleconverter is a good one. Generally, this particular 2x TC is much
less expensive than Pentax models of similar optical quality, and the
Vivitar has the added value of the variable Macro extension tube built
in, which is a very useful feature.
