Hi, Bill,

I ~love~ camping (all the more reason to hit Grandfather Mountain next year,
eh?)

Back when I was married, we had a couple of cheap dome tents, and for several
summers went camping pretty much every weekend. Our favourite places were
Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania, Watkens Glen State Park in NY, and
Letchworth State Park also in NY (I think Amita went there on her honeymoon
<g>).

Somehow, camping in one's own country isn't exotic...

But, to get back to your post, yeah, we also talked to lots of retired folks,
who ditched the home and RV all year long. Down South in the winter, up North
in the summer. It got to be a joke in our car: if we were behind a monster RV
that was going 40mph in a 55 zone, hogging the whole lane, drifting one way and
the other across the road, sure enough, when we finally after 10 miles of
mountain terrain managed to pass them, the driver was 80 years old (not that
there's anything wrong with being 80 - I'm no ageist).

cheers,
frank
