Some of my ancestors (Vikings) raped and pillaged the people of the country in which I live (England) and helped conquer much of it. Others sailed with the Spanish Armada who tried to conquer the British Isles. Yet more died in the Potato famine in Ireland, and the descendants of some of those who survived fought for Irish independence (and maybe still do). Others built horse drawn coaches for rich English Lords who lived in their country (Scotland). I'm more than slightly confused and try not to think too much about my ancestors! John ;-)
