That's long enough. I only go back about a couple of hundred years, myself. :-)

I too do not feel guilty for what my ancestors did. However, history books can report real history rather than glamorized and/or single viewpoint history (i.e. white Caucasian male of European descent, which is what it used to only be in US history books when I was growing up -- there wasn't even a descent female perspective on the suffragette movement). Which is all I was saying, and I was saying that I believe our history books do now do a better job of covering *all* American history.
