Most likely the viewfinders doesn't agree with him (but then AF should work), or finder/mirror system is out of alignement (but then AF should work as well). Thats why I suggested vibrations as a possible source. But if he uses a tripod and prefire then vibrations is almost certainly not the culprit..... Pål
