Hi Lon, Long 'I', as in flying a 'kite'. British slang. LCD displays on cameras are programmable. I have mine set so it does not instantly pop on after every shot - that was instantly annoying. It only lights up if I press the button. In fact, I have an opaque cover over it that hinges up to allow viewing when required. Partly to keep it hidden, partly to counteract thumb and noseprints. ('Noseprints' - there's a new word. Unheard if until the advent of digital cameras with LCD screens on the back. LOL.)
