Howdy, folks, Well, I've been out of touch for a week, touring the battlefields and military cemetaries around Normandy with my dad. Took a lot of photos, most of them purely to record the trip, but a few for more "artistic" motives. I'll dump the first five rolls with the lab this morning and get the rest done over the course of the week. It was quite a moving experience.
We saw the annual ceremony for the British troops at the Airborne cemetary at Ranville. We were at the American cemetary at Omaha beach for Retreat. About 10,000 buried there, and they're less than a third of the Americans lost in France in '44. It really put the bickering around the PDML into perspective. I deleted 1,600 PDML messages, unread, after scanning about two dozen. I sure hope the PDML will come out of this mode soon. TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
