Perfection is objective, not subjective. If his skill level and
knowledge level allow him to get exposure to within 1/3 stop of what he
considers perfect, then you are disputing is his competencey as a visual
technician.
Unless you have seen his work, you cannot make credible subjective
judgements about what is, in reality, an objective medium.
