I once did a two-hour endurance race with a friend of mine. Two-hour endurance races are a lot of fun. One pit stop, an hour of racing for each rider. I rode the second hour. It rained for the whole race. I'd never raced in the rain before. It was intimidating, to say the least. (Oh yeah, and a rider had been killed in a crash - in the dry - just that morning.) Anyway, it took me about 3 laps to get used to it and from then on I had a blast. We were riding a Yam FZR400 and the light weight and relatively low horsepower made it easy to outrun the bigger, more powerful bikes on the wet asphalt. I have *never* had more fun on a race track. Later, a friend of mine described my mood after the race thusly: "I've never seen anyone get off a race bike with an erection before!" He was, of course, exaggerating.
