Thanks, good to know. The Takumar probably is overrated then.
Would the image quality of Zeiss Flektogon 20mm be near the K-mount Pentax
20mms? There are f4 and a f2.8 (newer) versions running on german ebay just
now

Bern, it's true that the 20mm Takumar is not distorsion free (like, by the way, both K and M lenses). But the lens has good contrast.


The distorsion we are talking about is only visible if your subject shows straight lines (mostly buildings). The lens is perfectly suitable for all other subjects.

The Takumar is physically much smaller than both Flektogon lenses.

I'm not sure this will help you make your choice...
