Bill, i use Kodak Porta 160VC and Fujicolor NPH 400.  The Fuji is good for 
overcast conditions, both give excellence skin tones, color and 
grain.  Reala can be considered too.  Supra and Superia comes next.  For 
black and white, the two pro-oriented chromogenic films, Ilford's XP-2 
Super and Kodak's T-Max T400 CN.

If NPH is not available, go for the 160VC.
