Value is not the same thing as price, and many Pentax users have a very hard time grasping this.

So the price isn't outrageous, especially if you're going to use it on a

Price points for high end Canon and Nikon goods are expensive but they seem
to be in line with current pricing of their other products so it's not that
incredible.
