Another point with foam....cover it with something before using it. I have
had the opportunity to work on the foam padding used in packing items on the
Spacce Shuttle. Experience has shown not to use bare foam for packing items
that will be frequentlu removed and replaced like a camera body and lenses.
The foam will begin to shed and little pieces of foam will be everywhere,
including inside your camera and lenses. Cover the foam with a non lint
producing material, like sateen. Use only foam designed for use with optical
devices if you value your lenses. Most foam off gasses crud and it will get
on your lenses, kinda like that stuff that gets on the inside of your car
windshield.
