Doe, The list means the film has the characteristic - so use in opposite situation. Use high contrast film when the light is low and low contrast film when the light is high.
Slides are inherently more contrasty than prints. I have heard Fuji Astia is a bit lower contrast and Agfa RSXII 100 is low-medium contrast (probably why I like it as a general purpose film).
