I quite agree. No matter what I might wish the MZ-S had that it
does not, if it sells for under $600.00 here I'll buy one. If
not I'll get a second PZ-1p.

The increased durability/longevity of the new camera might be of
bebefit for some but I don't think I shoot enough film for it to
be an issue for me (especially with the inevitable demise of
35mm due to digital in the next 5-10 years). All I need is a
*good* camera around $500-600 with better autofocus than Pentax
currently offers.
