As the name implies, the Mini Cooper was a Morris Mini fitted with a 
de-tuned Cooper 4 cylinder (perhaps) 1.3 ,liter racing engine. Minilite 
mag wheels, fatter tires, and lots of other goodies that made them scream.

With some trepidation, Paul Jones opined on 02/13/2001 21:54:
