I also think it is an excellent lens, both in terms of definition and
colour rendition.
As for the hood issue, the inner part of my FA 35 mm. hood seems matt. I
don't know if it is a "second generation" lens shade, or perhaps my
perception is wrong.
I'll have to make an informal test to check it.
