While slide mounts do cut off a bit of the image, not everyone
mounts their slides, and of those that don't many, I'm sure,
would prefer to use the full frame. When composing, I try to
consider how much of the scene is missing in the finder - IOW,
I crop very tightly, taking the important part of the image
right to the edge of what is visible in the finder, and
sometimes just a bit past. So I want to see the full frame in
the negs or slides.
