1435306 has some macro lenses: right now, and also extension
tubes.  Truthfully, a 50mm f2 with either extension tubes or
close up filters will be better than what you are using now. DO
you have a 50mm lens? If so you are well on your way, and the 50
is a pretty usefull general purpose lens. Either option will get
you into the 1:1 magnification range. Extension tubes are
optically better. Cood close up filters are surprisingly good.
Nikon makes some 2 element ones that are very good.
