I think "heavy" requires a working definition.
If I really like a lens, think it might be just what I need for a
particular shot, and am willing to take it on a field trip with a half dozen
other lenses than the lens is "large." But if the same conditions hold and
I'm NOT willing to load it in my bag with a half dozen other lenses than it's
"heavy."
Disclaimer: after lugging a Pentax 67 II with five lenses around for a
year and a half I can honestly say NONE of the Pentax 35mm lenses seem
"heavy!" :->
