Hello again list: Am still working on it--lol; after I changed to "freeds
(I hope I'm saying this right) Express Rip _is_ giving me the titles; I now
need to find out if I can make it give the track number! As Gary pointed
out, it's a pretty safe bet that this CD collection _is_ referenced and
probably several times over! I don't know how much was given for my copy of
The Complete Hank Williams (was given to me for Christmas) am sure it was a
little on the pricey side! This is why I just had a hard time believing
that it hadn't been in any data base! I may (just for giggles) try ripping
with CDEX as it uses one of the same servers that Express Rip uses as at
least I do like that it puts everything in its own folder and numbers the
tracks; can't imagine why it's not giving me the titles! But sometimes when
it comes to these sorts of things, who knows!

I've installed Express Rip and it gives me a choice of FreeDb and Music
Brains. The Music Brains give me a totally different track listing.
I don't see a choice for Gracenote. I thought someone said it did use
Gracenote. I think Gracenote seems to be the best service.

Well I think I finally got it to do what I want (I figured out how to change
it to "Freeds) and am having success; only thing I need to do (if possible)
is to see if I can get it to put the track number in! Currently it's giving
me the title, but wouldn't mind if it would also list the track number!
Will have another look in options to see if there's a way to accomplish
this!

It's been a while since I used Express Rip. Last time I did it used
Freeds.com

You might check to see what music data base it is using and see if you can
change it. From earlier posts, it sounds as if your particular disks may
just not be out on the net yet and you'll need to manually tag the files.

As I understand the process these programs/data bases go through, is they
analyze the number of tracks on a disk, the length of each track in order
and the total length of the disk and try to match that information with
disks in their data bases. If no one's put that info up on their data base,
it will try to find something close as a suggestion.

what is it...Brain Food (or something like that? wherever it's getting it's
information from (as far as this CD is concerned) it's "waay out in left
field! Not even close!

I think you need Express Rip not Express Burn. Express Burn is a cd
creation program. I'm not sure from where it would be taking the info
you're seeing.

Hello again list: Okay.so I went and downloaded this "Express Burn".decided
to go ahead and try the CD I've been trying to rip. Aw but it acts like
it's a whole different CD than what I'm attempting to rip! It's putting
names and titles that have aabsolutely _nothing_ to do with this particular
CD! So what in the world is going on here? I didn't let it completely rip,
but now it'd be something if (had aI let if finish) it gave me the actual
songs it was titling, for I can assure yyou that the titles and ar5tists
it's coming up with have _nothing_ to do with this here CD! So it looks
like I need to get some more information about this CD ripping program.like
how to tell it which server I want it to check and such; and hot to tell it
the bit rate I want (am finding nothing like that as far as I've been able
to tell!
