Hi! I've started on a Podcast/Demo of this radio and it will be ready by this time next week, I feel I know enough about the radio now to be able to give an informed description and demonstration for those who are interested however, I will not be discussing the topic of memory presets.
The PL-660 has 2,000 of these, the Pl-880 has 2,500, the Sangean ATS909X 370 and so it goes on. I don't use memory locations myself on radios any longer, the methods each multi band radio use for setting memories is different for each case and I'm getting sick of trying to remember what steps are needed for each set, its easier to remember fequency values and just type them on the keypad and most multi band radios available these days at least have a keypad in a calculator arrangement for the typing of frequency information etc. The only exception to this rule I know of is the CC SW radio From CCrane and if you're looking at that particular radio for its memory presets then forget it, its by far the worst I've come across in all my time of working with radio sets, the memory presets available - 10 for each band - are not overwhelming by any means but getting to them is a challenge to anyone without sight, one button cycles through them. I'll let the list know when the demo is ready. ********** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane
