Hi List.

I must apologise first of all if I don't explain this very well, I'm not PC
audio savvy and may therefore leave out vital info the more knowledgeable of
you need to help me diagnose the
problem. Anyway, here goes.

I'm using Goldwave to record through the line-in on my PC, and this works well
for the most part. The only slight problem is that loud noise, explosions etc
always get distorted through my speakers, but not on the recording itself. I've
played about with the line-in levels and they're set down at 12, so I don't
feel this is where the problem lies.

I'm using creative labs 2.1 speakers for the PC and the distortion problem
doesn't exist when playing music or internet radio.

Is there some kind of level or setting I'd need to look at within the windows 7
system that may be causing this sound problem? Something in my playback or
recording settings perhaps that could need adjusted?

Any advice gratefully received.

Darran
