never tried to rip a DVD that's been encrypted.
In the meantime I'll see what I can come up with.

Hi Arthur. I've tried doing what you said regarding ripping a DVD but still
get the error message.  I think it might be required to get some kind of
plug in to defeat any kind of incription on the disc. Looking at Magic DVD ripper's web page they have the necessary things embedded in their programme
to defeat incription and it can be optionally updated.  If you have any
suggestions or advice it would be welcome.  If I could avoid forking out a
lot of money to purchase Magic DVD ripper my bank balance would be the
happier.  Walter.
