is this when JAWS loads as a service, or when you load it from a shortcut in the start menu?
Every Time I start my computer, jaws always runs to my SB card. to fix it, I have to unload JAWS and reload it from the shortcut and it works flawlessly. support knows about it, and have not found a fix yet. /David -----Original Message----- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of kev lyon Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2010 1:19 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: tying jfw to a particular sound card hi, hmm already tried that, and no matter which card i select, jfw hangs on to the sound blaster card which is the default playback caard selected in control panel. under that setting in jfw11 i have, windows default, soundblaster, playback through total recorder, and realtek hd audio output, which is checked. but the s.b card won't let go of jfw! :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul (Pawel) Loba" <pl...@rogers.com> To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2010 9:10 PM Subject: RE: tying jfw to a particular sound card > Hi, > With JAWS10 or up, have a look under JAWS's utilities menu and arrow down > to > sound cards wher you should be able to make any of your required changes. > Hth, > Pawel. > > -----Original Message----- > From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] > On Behalf Of kev lyon > Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2010 4:05 PM > To: pc audio > Subject: tying jfw to a particular sound card > > hi all, i've always had 2 sound cards on this system, the onboard one - > realtek hd audio output, and a soundblastercard i put in myself. jfw has > always been on the onboard card so i can use the other for music etc. i > had > to have the whole system reformatted and windows reinstalled recently, and > now i cannot get jfw to put itself on the onboard sound card as before. > nothing has changed with the system and i've double and tripple checked > i'm > putting the right info in the jfw.ini file as i've always done. i've tried > it with jfw 8, 9 and 11, and none of them will use the onboard realtek hd > audio output card as they used to. > i'm not sure if this may be regarded as a jfw problem or a soundcard > problem, so email me off list if it's regarded as not pc audio related. > the > onboard card is working as it was in use before i put the sb card backin > after the reformat/reinstall. > > any ideas what may be the problem? > > kevin > kr...@eklyon.co.uk > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: > pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org > > > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: > pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
