Hi! Yep, you get Garage Band as standard with your Mac, I've never used it but you'll find tutorials on Garage Band at http://www.icanworkthisthing.com these tutorials have been written by blind users who use a Mac, you'll find just about everything you'll probably want to ever know about Voiceover and Iphone up there too! so that's a damn good resource.
As wel as Garage Band you get Quicktime Player, no this application isn't an editor but it is a sound recorder so you have that to be going on with at least if you want to record something. As you know I use a variety of recorders and editors with my Mac, my favourite recorder would have to be Audio Hijack Pro, records from any app or any sound device. My favourite recorder/editor would have to be Amadeus Pro which handles multi track recording/editing too! funny we should be talking about multi track recording/editing on pc-audio right now.
