I know that XP media center was available from system builders as an OEM, and to my knowledge, it was not available in any other form.
I use XP Media center Edition on a few machines that I built. it is comparable to XP pro with a few limitations. mainly that it can't join a domain. the media center application is pretty good. I have it working with an ATI all-in-wonder 9600 2006 edition video card/TV tuner. If anyone is interested, I still have access to remaining XP media center OEM copies from a business I work with. Please write me off list if you are interested and I would be able to let you know the details. /David -----Original Message----- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Christopher Chaltain Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 8:53 PM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: XP Media Center Windows XP Media Center is another flavor of Windows XP, such as Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional. I would assume that if you had Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional, you could upgrade to Windows XP Media Center, assuming you can still find it. -- Christopher chalt...@gmail.com -----Original Message----- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane trethowan Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 10:40 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: XP Media Center Hi! Is Windows XP Media Centre available for anyone using Windows XP to download or do you have to have a special edition of Windows XP?
