Jim, I haven't used Total Recorder so don't have it installed, but out of curiosity I went to their web site.
Looking at the features of TR it seems the editing abilities are restricted to the Pro Edition and aren't present in the standard edtion. So, could you be using the SE version? Does look as if SR does a lot these days and I'm interested as a friend is trying to use it. I used to hear folks criticise SR for messing around with soundcard driver settings and tending to mess up other sound apps. Is this true? Maybe someone can enlighten me as to what an SR installation does to your settings, if anything. Hope I might just have been of some help. Ray. Jim wrote: Hi again everyone, I could really use some help here. I didn't really get an answer last time. I'll explain the situation. I have Total Recorder right now, and unless I can use something different, I'll have to use it. I have a song I need to edit. There is about fifteen to twenty seconds, in the middle of the song, that I need to cut out. So, what I've done is the following: I first began playing the song. When I got to the place I wanted to cut, I did a Shift L to mark the front of the spot to select. It finished and then I did a Shift R to end the selection. I then hit the Delete key, but nothing happened when I tried saving the file again. What am I doing wrong? I also just got the Direct Cut mp3 program, so if this can be done, I could use some directions. I've been trying to do this for a week now. Thanks.
