Hey Marsha. I use Window Eyes and System Access, but with those two screen
readers, it has been my experience that speech can be a bit sluggish when
streaming audio on a netbook. This is with the onboard sound serving both
the stream and synthesized speech, and others who have more experience with
streaming while using speech may have found workarounds. But thus far, for
me, it's been a case of one or the other. Either I stream music or do work
that involves one of my screen readers.

Subject: Streaming quality on netbook
Hi
While I understand that you could not do quality recording on a netbook,
can you stream music and still use Jaws? If so, what is the quality of
both? Thanks for information.
Marsha
