it acts like it has a limiter, which you can't control. the only thing you can do is set the machine from auto to manual. as Neal has said, it is a little hard to get an exact level when recording so you have to settle for a happy medium.

I do think the Plextor Pocket is going to turn out to be the best option by far for those wanting high quality pro level recording in stereo. the only
thing you could want that it doesn't have is 24 bit epth recording which
would be good particularly for music.

I aught to go and look at the spec again, but does anyone actually know if
the Pocket has a limiter?
