Hi. I'm also using a Realtek HD Audio Card and my problem is further
complicated by the fact that my computer runs on Vista/. So I'm floundering
a bit with some of the adjustments I need to make. One problem is that I
can't seem to hear what I'm feeding into the system when recording line-in.
When I record something and play it back, I can hear that something was
indeed recorded, but I need to be able to monitor the audio while recording,
something that I've been able to do with my older XP system with no
problems. Any thoughts on what I might need to check? Or maybe uncheck? Or
maybe something else etirely? Suggestions will be more than welcomed here.

A little tricky. When you go to the "record" controls, (use the windows
keys,) you'll want to mute the Stereo mix" when you're on the mic and vs.
versa when you play music.

Subject: Realtek HD Audio Card help
Hey Everyone,
I was about to audition for my spot on ACB radio when I realized my
mic was looping back on itself. I've looked at all the forums and
from what I've seen I've got things set up right but I can't seem to
find a fix for this. I have a Realtek HD Audio Card and from what I
understand many folks have problems adjusting the mic settings. Can
anyone suggest a fix for this or can anyone suggest a good
alternative replacement that does work with Window Eyes? I have a
LapTalk so I'm not sure I can swap them out. Come to think of it I
was told the last time I used skype I was looping back badly then
too. Until a month ago my mic wasn't working at all so i guess I'm
making some progress, lol. Thanks much for your help.
