In my world, .3gp files are audio files. They are used by the NLS for
their new Digital Book standard. As I said earlier, the Victor Stream
reader makes them when you record a voice note. They are much smaller
than .mp3's and are of very good sounding quality for their size. There
are NO video components in them!

.3gp is the standard use by the NLS to record talking books and
magazines. It is also used by the Victor Stream Reader to record your own
personal notes. If you have the Victor Stream it comes with a CD
containing companion software that will convert .3pg files into .wav and
from there you can play them or convert them to .mp3 or .ogg etc.
