Yeah, I know what you mean.  Well, you can try it but you'll get a lot of
version conflict messages and missing / incompatible dll  errors.

Is it possible to take the codecs from version 12 and install them into the
engine of version 9 or 10? How exactly would one do this; which files would
one need to copy from 12 into 9.
