Hi Jim,

What I do is:

1. Select the beginning and end of the selection with B and N, as you have
done.

2. Select normalize with ctrl+m.

3. Tab to the up/down slider. For me, with JAWS, it shows values such as
39%. I'm not sure what those percentages mean, but up and
down arrow will increase or decrease the volume. You can't actually hear
the results of your change until you press enter on OK,
then play the file around your change. If it is not right the first time,
you can make a further adjustment.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Barry Chapman

Subject: mp3 direct cut

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can give me a hand with mp3 direct cut. I have parts
of the file I need to raze the audio level. So I find the part I want to
change and mark the beginning with the keyboard hotkey (B) and end of it
with (N) and when I use the control up or down arrow to change the gain it
takes effect on the entire file. What am I doing wrong?

Using mp3 direct cut version 2.09

Thanks.
