There is a little plugin for goldwave that allows one to cut and paste with
mp3's. The only reason I know is that I tried to do it once when I didn't
have the plugin and this message came on telling me that I couldn't, but
offered me the download. So I don't know where I got it, but GW should have
it somewhere. Ask their tech support folks. It beats decompressing and
recompressing.

I know all about Goldwave, and it does have many advantages. Actually, when
working with an mp3 file, Mp3 Direct Cut has it beat for splitting and some
simple editing given the fact that it works directly on the mp3 file without
decompressing and re-compressing. Both programs have their uses.

Give Goldwave a try. It will solve your recording and file splitting
problems.
