I know that this should rightly go to winamp for the blind group, but since I'm
not a member, I wonder if someone on this list could direct me to the answer.

I haven't updated winamp for some time, but I've had to reinstall with the
latest full version - 5144. However, I like to hear my audio files fast
forwarding when I press and hold the right cursor button. Winamp now seems to
have a mechanism that uses what I believe is called soft start and stop between
presses of the right cursor button so that now there is no background noise
when fast forwarding. I tend to rely on this facility to monitor the fast
forward to for example the next music segment in a recorded radio broadcast,
thus skipping past the DJ's comments, weather forecasts, etc.

So my question is: how can I reinstate the skipping noise when I fast forward?

Any pointers would be helpful.
