A number of Clear Channel stations stream on the web. Many choose not to
stream because they have to pay the internet rates for any music they
stream.

Rush Limbaugh said the other day that his stream blocks all music, including
parodies, because of the cost. Said the stations have to pay the royalties
if they want to broadcast any music he plays.

Subject: Streaming Clear Channel Stations

I asked about Clear Channel streaming stations on another
e-mail list and got this answer from a Clear Channel
employee. Not sure why other broadcast companies don't have
the same restrictions unless it has to do with news and talk
stations versus music stations.

Copyright..we can't stream (with a few exceptions for US
Military stationed overseas) outside the US. Trust me, it's
a royal PITA to care of.
